I loooooove marbled nails. The way each nail turns out different is what reels me in, but after many failed attempts I decided to let it be and give up on the whole water marbled thang. Until, this morning, I stumbled across the plastic bag technique. Within 5 minutes I'd whipped off my existing polish and had my sandwich bag ready and raring to go.
1. Paint nails with base coat of choice
2. Blob 3-4 different colours on each nail, one nail at a time
3. Take a plastic sandwich bag (or something similar) and press over the blobs. Then keep pressing and smoothing to spread the blobs over the entire nail bed
4. The super messy bit! You'll need lots of cotton buds soaked in nail varnish remover to clean up the edges
A slick of topcoat and half a pack of q-tips later, you'll be left with multi-coloured nails that have this amazing, unique watercolour/marbley/tie-dye effect to them. I am in LOVE. Although the whole thing looks long winded and fussy, this is probably one of the easiest, stress free manis I've ever done. And we all know how stressful some manicures can be sometimes. Let me know what you think of these and if you'll be giving them a go! Have you tried the plastic bag technique before?
