Finally! A new post! And whilst it's not technically beauty related, it's about a very beautiful place indeed; Lopud Island in Croatia. Marco and I stayed there for a week at the beginning of Julyand it was ah-mazing.
One of the first snaps we took of the island, stepping off of the boat. A little further down there was a stall selling the yummiest peaches and on our way to the hotel we stopped off at the gelato stall too.
After lots of sleep and food, Marco and I ventured down to our hotel's beach area where I became obsessed with how clear the water was. Even when you swam out pretty deep you could still see your tootsies.
Yep, then I got a bit snap happy whilst repeatedly gasping "it's just SO clear!!"
Breakfast was an unlimited supply of buttery scrambled egg, mozzarella and Champagne - well, Cava - but the best part was...
As well as the water obsession, there was the butterfly obsession. At this point, I'd decided I'd actually taken the wrong path in life and clearly should be pursuing wildlife photography instead.
After hearing about Sunj Beach on the other side of the island, we trekked uphill over there early one morning. Excuse the crane, but the view was amazing once you got to the highest point of the hill.
Well, we thought we were at the highest point. We were wrong, more stairs.
But it was worth it! The beach was lovely and sandy, as opposed to the pebbly beach by our hotel, and the water was so warm.
The beach itself was just a tiny little stretch with only two chilled bars - and that was it. No hotels, houses, or shops. It had such a relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
And on the last day we splashed out and hired a jet ski. Yes I am only going 2mph and yes I was absolutely terrified but it was still amazing!
The sun starting to rise as we left for the airport.
Lopud really was such a beautiful place - so tranquil and calm, if that's the sort of thing you want from your holiday, you'd love it! We spent a lot of time in Dubrovnik as well which was the nearest city to our island, let me know if you'd like to see some photos from there too! Where are you guys off on your travels this summer?
