Review: Clinique Lash Power Mascara

Often I catch myself pondering: "We're in the 21st century. How hard can it be to find a mascara that doesn't smudge or flake these days?!!!!" Well, the answer to that, my friends, is actually really quite hard. So many mascaras are just total liars when it comes to the topic of longevity, but not this one. Clinique Lash Power Mascara £17.00 may look small, but it's very mighty indeed.

First let's address that teeny-tiny wand. It 100% reminds me of those crappy mascaras that you'd get with an Argos makeup set - remember those? But do not be fooled - like I said: small, but mighty. So, the tiny bristles on the wand make it super easy to get right to the root of the lashes, the very corners of the lashes and the bottom lashes are also a complete doddle.

Now on to the formula. This is one of those tubing mascaras, meaning that it encases each lash in a tube of colour as opposed to coating the lashes like a traditional mascara. This technology is designed to add actual length to the lashes with fibres. The amazing part is that once these 'tubes' are adhered to the lashes, they will not budge all day. Honestly, it's just crazy how long lasting Lash Power is. The removal is super simple as the tubes slide straight off with a touch of warm water.

I personally adore the look Lash Power gives my lashes; separated, lengthened and boy does it hold a curl. However I don't think that this mascara will be for everyone - if you're after a heavy helping of volume, this won't be quite enough (although in that case I'd go for the trusty Clinique High Impact £16.50). What might also be considered a con is the removal. I find it super easy and if I'm having a shower in the evening it's even easier! But it can be a pain to remove the rest of your makeup one way then have to trundle to the sink and remove Lash Power with warm water. However it's totally down to your own habits and preferences.

Overall I would completely recommend this mascara to anyone who has relatively full lashes and wants to add more length and separation. And like I said this mascara does not budge so if you want an alternative to the traditional waterproof mascaras, Lash Power is definitely worth a try. I'm a total tubing mascara convert, and this one is my absolute fave -  I just wish they were a little cheaper! I could definitely not afford to buy Lash Power constantly, but I received it for Christmas and am absolutely treasuring it at the moment! Have you ever tried this mascara, or any other tubing mascaras?
