Valentine's Day Nails (last one, promise!)

This design has definitely got to be my favourite design out of the three Valentine's Day nail looks that I've done (here's the first, and the second!). I love the ombre effect these two shades create; the putty shade is Essie Sand Tropez £7.99 and the peachy colour is the amazing Essie A Crewed Interest (discontinued - dupe). The two are such a lovely combo and remind me of the sunset on a beach!

Ombre nails are super easy to achieve, and I've done a separate, more in-depth, tutorial on it here. Once you've got your ombre on, all you'll need is a nail art pen in the colour of your choice - I used one from a set by Nails Supreme, which you can find on Amazon. The trick with nail art pens is to apply even pressure the whole time and move slowly. I quickly practised writing L-O-V-E on some paper first before going in - with very shaky hands! Once you've finished the design you want to wait as long as possible before applying your top coat, around half an hour, to avoid smudging your design. A little tip is to pat your top coat over the design rather than drag it in sweeping motions. I used the super quick drying nails inc Caviar Top Coat (£12.00 in a set of two)

I am obsessed with this colour combo - nude, peach and black - and will definitely be trying something similar soon. I think these shades would look even more beautiful in the summer time. So ladies, whatever you're up to this Valentine's Day, I hope you have a wonderful time! Out of the three that I did, which nail look was your favourite?

  3. It's super quick and easy to do! Although if you follow the method where you use a sponge to do the ombre you can end up with a lot of nail varnish around your cuticles. Can add some vaseline/lip balm around them so the polish doesn't stick too much! xx
